SSG was established in August 1991 as a cooperative of families who had a vision of their children living independently in their communities.
Our History
The cooperative was organized to serve and advocate for persons with disabilities, and to provide the supports necessary for them to live independently in the community, while maintaining personal choice and control.
We now have approximately 190 members, 90 living in the Halifax area, 50 members in the Annapolis Valley, and 50 in Bridgewater.
We are growing every day, and we have a large, well trained support staff team: 169 support staff and 22 coordinators.
Make a change by working with people
