HomeShare is a person-directed support arrangement where a member with diverse abilities shares a home with a HomeShare Provider. In some situations, the HomeShare Provider may instead move into the member’s home to provide support.
The HomeShare arrangement at Support Services Group supports adults with diverse abilities who are part of the province’s Disability Support Program. The arrangement promotes greater independence, community inclusion, and personal choice.
Becoming a HomeShare Provider
As a HomeShare Provider, you will share a living environment with a member and provide individualized support based on their needs, preferences, and goals. This may include assistance with meal preparation, scheduling and routines, health-related needs, household tasks, and other activities of daily living.
HomeShare Providers play an important role in supporting members with diverse abilities to live independently, while maintaining personal choice and connection within their community.
Every HomeShare arrangement is unique. The type and level of support provided will depend on the member’s needs and goals. Support Services Group will work alongside HomeShare Providers by offering guidance, training, and ongoing support to help create a successful and meaningful partnership.
