I love the concept that the agency stands for. Being with SSG has helped me be more confident. I have staff who believe in me, and that is something I’ve always struggled with. I love getting together with other members for events, it’s always a blast. I love the summer camp we have, it is fun to be with friends and make memories that will last forever.

Even though the world is going through a pandemic, the SSG team came together to make it easier to navigate the changes and gave their all to ensure we are happy. When we couldn’t have our usual get-togethers, they had Zoom parties, which were really fun.

Above all, I would recommend this wonderful group to anyone, they believe in you as a whole person.

Having SSG as a part of our daughter’s life has been such a comfort as we know we are not alone; that there are others who care.

SSG provides the opportunity for a true partnership between member, family and support staff with our daughter’s well being at the centre.

My brother Laurie has been with SSG in an independent living situation since their beginning, back when the families were part of the house management team and now when they have more of an advisory role.

The care he has received and the caregivers he has had over the years has been nothing short of outstanding. SSG and their employees have been dedicated, professional, knowledgeable and empathetic. They are responsible for enabling Laurie to have a quality of life and independence that would otherwise have been impossible with the Traumatic Brain Injury Laurie suffered at age 21 over 47 years ago. Thanks to SSG’s care Laurie has defied all the dire medical prognoses he was given at the time of his injury and looks forward to each day with enthusiasm , joy and a sense of humour and acceptance of his life.

SSG will forever have Laurie’s and his family’s respect and gratefulness.
